'Vegas,' 'Threat' Lock in Showrunners Two TV veterans have been tapped to run new drama series at ABC and NBC.
Gardner Stern, who most recently worked on FOX's "John Doe," has been named an executive producer and co-showrunner of NBC's "Las Vegas," while James Parriott ("Push, Nevada") will fill a similar post on ABC's "Threat Matrix." Parriott says he's excited to join the "Threat Matrix" team, where he'll also serve as an executive producer.
"'Threat Matrix' is a great and timely project that has that rare opportunity to inform as well as entertain," Parriott tells The Hollywood Reporter. The series is about a team of counter-terrorism agents in the Department of Homeland Security.
Parriott's other credits include "Dark Skies" and "The American Embassy." He executive produced "The Partners," a pilot that didn't make it to ABC's schedule, this spring. On "Las Vegas," which stars James Caan as head of a casino security team, Stern will run the show with creator Gary Scott Thompson ("The Fast and the Furious" ). Prior to "John Doe," Stern created the series "Breaking News" and was a writer and producer on "Law & Order" and "NYPD Blue," among others. Related Shows
